MOCCC 50th Celebration

On Saturday 18th February 2022 MOCCC celebrated their 50th year (delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Hosted by club great Anthony McIntosh, the evening truely encompassed what it means to be part of the MOCCC and its support network.

Past President Peter French welcomed everyone and spoke of the club, beyond its players, the appreciation we have for supporters and volunteers like the great Tim Naughton and his “masters degree in cordial making.”

Past and present players spoke of the clubs rich history. Unable to leave the sledging on the field, many stories were told and it was clear that MOCCC had played a significant part in the lives of many.

The clubs longest serving and current club Secretary, Daniel Coloe, spoke of MOCCCs successful navigating of recent challenges and about MOCCCs bright future.

Praising the ongoing support of the school from the beginning, it was highlighted that the club is indeed an important and key place of belonging for past students, their friends and families.

The team of the 2000's was named, the Team of the Century was back together, and they were presented with their caricatures by Paul Harvey.

Attendees included current principle of Marcellin College Marco Di Cesare, and MOCCC life members, catching up and pass on their stories.

All in attendance received a wonderful piece of club memorabilia in a book put together by Julian Black. The book included player recollections, ladder positions, premierships, the Tim Naughton Honour Board, Perpetual Awards, Centuriouns, Five Wicket Takers, MOCCC Players 1972-2022, The MOCCASIN and photos.

A fantastic evening and moment in the clubs history, thank you to all who attended.
