2021 Winter Cricket Frozen Eagles Game 3

Marcellin won the toss and elected to field first as the outfield and conditions were conducive for bowlers, D Patel, J Dinneen, J Black and M Fifadra did exactly what the captain ordered picking up quick wickets and having the opposition 6/47 in 22 overs with Meet ending up with figures of 3/13 and J Black 2/12. C Joshi and C Da Silva continued where the quickies left off and Marcellin rolled out the Parkfield Bandits for a meagre 61.

With a small total to chase Marcellin didn't start well losing two quick wickets in form of K Mehta and M Sethia, R Shetye and D Coloe who was playing his first game of the season steadied the ship. R Shetye ended being the top scorer getting the team across the line with some help from D Coloe, J Black and A Mathur.

Marcellin ended up chasing the total in their 20th over and registering their 3rd win of the season taking them to the top of the ladder in the comp.

Marcellin lost the toss and were put in to bat first. We started with C Stewart and A Massaroti this time but lost an early wicket in C Stewart. K Mehta and A Massaroti continued from where they left off in the last game with A Massaroti scoring another 50 before retiring. K Mehta added another useful 37. The middle order looked a little scratchy with M Sethia and A Mathur getting out for 1 and 0 respectively, J Black steadied the ship again with another 50 retired.

Contributions from C Joshi and D Patel at the end of innings gave us another competitive total of 199. Our bowlers started well with M Fifadra drawing blood in the very first over and taking another one in his second over, D Patel was a miser again, didn't give away anything to the opposition and taking a wicket, a good run out from M Sethia had the opposition 4-19 in 9 overs.

The opposition then accumulated well and added 68 for the fifth wicket. M Sethia brought on himself and J Black after drinks to stop the run flow. J Black did not disappoint, scalping 4 wickets for 24 runs. M Sethia got a wicket as well giving away 22 in his 6 overs. A disciplined performance overall and the Eagles had their second win of the season making it 2 out of 2.

Keyur and J Black stitched it up together with J Black scoring yet another 50, ending up on 64. Some late flurry from Rohit got us to above par total of 256 in 35 overs.

With runs on board, our opening bowlers Dev and Meet started well with Dev picking up 2 quick wickets and making it difficult to reach anywhere near the required run rate. John Dinneen then did what he does best, picking up 4 scalps. Contributions from our new recruit Naval as well as Chetan and Mohit rolled out the opposition for paltry total of 87 and gave Marcellin their 1st win of the winter cricket competition.
